Share Fruit.
Reduce Waste.
Help Your Community.
FruitShare connects homeowners with excess backyard fruit, student volunteers who help harvest it, and local organizations that distribute it to people in need.
How FruitShare works
A simple process turns fruit that might otherwise go unused into fresh food for local organizations.
Request a Pickup
Homeowners tell us about excess fruit and when their tree is available.
Volunteers Harvest
FruitShare coordinates volunteers to help harvest when a pickup is feasible.
Fruit Is Checked
Usable fruit is separated so recipient organizations receive fruit they can use.
Fruit Is Donated
The harvest is coordinated with a local organization serving people facing food insecurity.
Three ways to take part

“Rohan and his dad came today and picked 3 bags full of apples. They are the real deal. They are trying to get fresh fruit and veggies to a food bank that needs nutritious foods.”
Local Fruit Donor“Thank you so much Rohan for your efforts and donation. I’ve seen and heard firsthand how appreciative our clients are for the donated items.”
Local Food Pantry VolunteerGood fruit shouldn't go to waste.
Every year, edible fruit from backyard trees goes to waste because homeowners often have more fruit than they can use or are unable to harvest it. At the same time, many people in our communities face food insecurity.
FruitShare connects those two challenges by bringing excess backyard fruit to organizations that serve people in need. Through a community of volunteers, we work to reduce food waste, combat food insecurity, and ensure that edible fruit is shared instead of wasted.
